Mark Ernest Bonitatibus age 65 passed away peacefully in his home in Schenectady, NY on May 1, 2021. Mark was born on October 19, 1955 in Schenectady, NY, to the late Ernest Armando Bonitatibus and Hazel Marion Herrick.
Mark lived a “rock star” youth, with no regrets; he lived life out loud, enjoyed fast cars, and heavy metal music. Mark served in the U.S. Army for a short time and worked at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady, NY for 23 years until his retirement.
Mark came from a long line of Bonitatibus aunts, uncles, and cousins, most of whom live in and around the Schenectady area. Mark was best friends with his cousin Louis Bonitatibus (Sharon) who cared for and supported Mark over the past several years. He was predeceased by his sister Bonita Florence Paniccia (husband Luigi). He is also survived by his sister Linda Bonitatibus Fonda of Pike Creek, DE. He had three nephews and a niece: Anthony Paniccia, of Colonie, Joseph M. Paniccia (wife Sara) of Rotterdam, Justin Fonda of Washington, DC, and Danielle Fonda Thomas (husband Jamaal) of New Castle, DE. Mark also had several great-nephews and nieces: Erin Paniccia (wife Tricia), Joseph Paniccia, and Andrew Paniccia, Mia Paniccia, and Arianna Fonda. He had one great-great-nephew Holden Paniccia. Even with a tough exterior, Mark loved his family.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home.
Monetary donations in the name of Mark Bonitatibus can be made to the Bethesda House, 834 State St., Schenectady, NY.
Interment services will be private at the convenience of his family. Mark will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY next to his beloved mother.
