Marion Townsend

Marion Townsend 99 died Wednesday evening January 18, 2006 at her home in Ballston Lake. Born in Westbrook, ME she was the daughter of Leonard and Lillian Emery and a graduate of Westbrook High School., A homemaker, Marion was a member of Cobblestone Reformed Church and was active in many of the church groups. She was a contributor to the craft show at the Saratoga County Fair where she received several 1st prize awards. Marion was predeceased in 1985 by her husband of 56years Nathaniel M. Townsend and was also predeceased by a son John E. Townsend, two brothers, Phillip and Leonard Emery and two sisters, Edith Emery and Dorothy Given. Survivors include a son Robert E. Townsend (Joan) of Scotia and a daughter Edith E. Wojnarowski (Robert) of Mechanicville and a sister Caroline Fortin of Westbrook, ME a daughter-in-law, Kathy Townsend of Rotterdam, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Private Memorial service will be held Saturday June 24, 2006 at 11AM in Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook, ME. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Lions Eye institute, 1210 New Scotland Rd., Slingerlands, NY 12159.
