Marion E. Gordon, of Schenectady passed away at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home in Schenectady on January 12, 2017. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Lindsay and Edna May (Jewett) Lockhart. A graduate of Nott Terrace High School, Marion was employed, as a Executive secretary for the General Electric Company, in Schenectady for 18 years. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady, Marion volunteered at the church for many years. Marion was a volunteer at Sunnyview Hospital, Proctors and the City Mission of Schenectady and was the oldest volunteer at the mission. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Alexander E. Gordon whom she married October 24, 1953 and her daughter Nancy Gordon Burns. Marion is survived by her loving son Robert J. Gordon (Sandra) of Rotterdam, five grandchildren- Shawn Rowledge, Rebecca L. Merlin, Brett A. Gordon, Alexander J. Burns and Austin D. Burns. Marion is also survived by two great grandchildren Victoria Merlin and Ava Rowledge as well as a niece Diane Cognelli (Ralph) and their children John, Hannah and Luke. Funeral Services for Marion will be Wednesday January 18, 2017 at 11AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. There will be no calling hours by request. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Marion's memory to the City Mission 425 Hamilton Street Schenectady, NY 12305 or to the First Presbyterian Church 115 Union Street Schenectady, NY 12305.
