Marion L. Flynt 95 died Friday evening September 18th at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. A former village of Scotia resident, Marion was born in Yonkers and was the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Marguerite (Vrooman) Young. A graduate of Peekskill High School, Marion was a member of the Scotia United Methodist Church, a life member of Buekendaal Chapter 528 Order of the Eastern Star, a Past State counselor with Daughters of America, a former American Red Cross volunteer and a former Girl Scout Leader. Predeceased in 2002 by her husband Leonard S. Flynt who she married February 15, 1942. Marion is survived by her daughter Linda S. Flynt of Scotia, a cousin, 2 nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning September 23rd at 10:30 am at bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gulderland, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Marion's memory to the Scotia United Methodist Church, 205 N. TenBroeck St., Scotia, NY or Shiners Children's Hospital, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104 or to the Schenectady County Historical Society, 32 Washington Ave, Schenectady, NY.
