Marion A Antalek

Marion A. Antalek of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center past away with her beloved niece Chris at her side on Wednesday November 13, 2013. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Kovaric. A former connector at the General Electric Company, Marion had attended Draper Schools. Predeceased in 1986 by her loving husband of 45 years Ernest A. Antalek, Marion was also predeceased by her brother Frank and his wife Anna Kovaric and her sister Helen and her husband Charles Butler. Marion and Ernest loved to garden together at their home in Rotterdam that he built for her. Family was important to them and they would go visiting on the weekends. She was a member of the former St Cyril's and Method Church where she would sometime play the organ for Mass and was a former president of their Altar Rosary Society. Marion leaves behind her nieces Christine McClaine, Janice Leonardi, Carole Kehrli, Susan Boel and Jean Moore as well as many great nieces, nephews and her dear friend Phyllis Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning November 16th at 9 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady followed at 9:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam, NY 12306 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 8 to 9 am at the funeral home. Interment in St Cyril Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and caregivers at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.
