Mario J Gizzi

Mario J. Gizzi, 90, of Rotterdam passed away on Sunday September 7, 2014 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Jamaica, NY, he was the son of the late Louis and Lozenzina (Palazzo) Gizzi. He served in the Army in World War 2. Mario was self employed for many years as a contractor. He was a member of the VFW Post 357 and was a lifetime member of the YMCA. Mario was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing pool and golf. He is predeceased by his wife Helen Lucarelli Gizzi and three brothers Angelo Gizzi, Anthony Gizzi and Julius Gizzi. Mario is survived by three sons Michael Gizzi(Denise) of Rotterdam, David Gizzi (Carmela) of Rochester and Thomas Gizzi (Sandra) of Mooresville, NC, also survived by five grandchildren Tamara Gizzi, Melanie Gizzi, Alexander Gizzi, Rachel Gizzi and Daniel Gizzi as well as 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Thursday 11am at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Wednesday evening 5-7PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
