Marilyn J. Brandt 90, passed away on Thursday afternoon October 28, 2021 at Albany Medical Center.
Born and educated in Schenectady, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Leo and Lydia (Knop) Babbitt and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.
Marilyn was a former employee in the admitting office at St. Clare’s Hospital. She had previously worked for the Carl Company in Rotterdam and Travelers Insurance Company. She was a life time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schenectady and was a member of the altar guild. She had a passion for animals and was a long time doner to Pet Connection, improving the lives of many pets.
Beside her parents Marilyn was also predeceased by her siblings Lloyd Babbitt and Evelyn Shopmyer.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years Robert C. Brandt Sr., her children, Lynn A Brandt of Schenectady, Robert C. Brandt Jr. (Carol Konazewski) of Schenectady and Sharyn L. Brandt-Ruzza (Jeff Blau) of Lake George, NY, her grandchildren Kelsey Ruzza (Madrit), Nikolaus Ruzza and Todd Brandt (Addie), several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Lucky.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 2nd from 1 to 3 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church, 153 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, NY 12308 with services for Marilyn to begin at 3 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Private interment in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
