Marie Treutler

Marie (Weisz) Treutler,94, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday afternoon February 3, 2021.

Born in Hungary, Marie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Scheller) Weisz and sister of the late Imre Weisz.

A graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy, Marie received her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from the College of St Rose in 1949. She went on to earn her Masters Degree from St John’s University in N.Y.C. in Nursing Education and Administration in 1958. For over 30 years Marie served Albany Medical School of Nursing until her retirement in 1987 as the Schools Director. Over the years Marie was a member of many professional and scientific organizations and held numerous offices.

She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady and Our Lady Queen of Peace in Rotterdam. She was an active volunteer with her church and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

She is survived by nieces and a nephew in Hungary.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning February 9th at 9:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace ,210 Princetown Road, Schenectady, NY(COVID 19 protocols will be in place)

Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Schenectady, NY
