Marie A Eglin (Campbell)

The world lost a beloved mother, daughter, sister and best friend Marie A. Eglin, on July 18, 2022. Marie battled dementia for 12 years, but it never stopped her from giving out the best smiles to anyone who crossed her presence. Marie passed away peacefully at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia.

Marie was born in Schenectady, NY on June 5, 1954. Marie is survived by her two children, who made up the entirety of her world, Jennifer M. Eglin & Joseph P. Richardson along with her three brothers James Ellis, Mych Ellis and Bobby Campbell, one sister Sandra Crounse, her mother Barbara Campbell along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Eglin, son Christopher L. Richardson, brother Johnny (Baja) Ellis and her father Robert Campbell.

Marie was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Schenectady. Marie worked briefly as a retail manager at Northern Reflections in Rotterdam Square Mall but most of her life she was a stay-at-home mother and home maker for her family, she loved being around her kids and departed partner Floyd Richardson JR. She was passionate about photography and captured so many photos of her family, friends, vacations and any scenic views she came across. She loved watching her soap operas (which she called her stories) especially the Young and the Restless, General Hospital, Days of our Lives and One Life to Live. She loved Playing Spades and Rummy with her son, her daughter and her friends on weekends, these were some of all of our greatest memories. Marie always had a smile on her face and anyone that crossed her path knew her as a kind, thoughtful and caring hearted person.

A Celebration of Marie’s life will be held on Wednesday July 27th from 11-12PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Interment will follow in Union Mills Cemetery in Broadalbin, NY.
