Maria Rockwell

January 22, 1940 — August 22, 2024

Maria Rockwell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on August 22nd 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Italy, to Guissepina and Vincenzo Testa she was the youngest of five siblings and spent her early years immersed in the rich traditions and culture of her homeland. At the age of 16, she moved with her family to England, where she would later meet the love of her life, William Rockwell, while he was deployed in the Air Force. The two married in August 1958 and soon after, began their life together in the United States. In 1961 Maria became a devoted mother to their daughter Ann.

Maria was a woman of deep faith and strong will, traits that guided her through the many challenges she faced in life. As a Catholic, her beliefs were a source of strength that helped her persevere through even the most difficult times.

Her greatest joy came from her family, particularly her two granddaughters, with whom she shared a special bond. They will always cherish the memories of shopping trips, baking sessions, and afternoons spent playing cards. These moments, along with countless others, will remain forever in the forefront of their hearts and minds.

Maria and Bill shared a love for travel, and over the years, they made numerous trips back to England and Italy, reconnecting with their roots and exploring new places together. They also enjoyed the freedom of the open road, spending time traveling in their camper, creating unforgettable memories along the way. These adventures were a testament to their enduring love and shared sense of adventure

She is survived by her devoted husband, William Rockwell, her loving daughter, Ann Baldwin (Richard); two granddaughters, Ashley Baldwin (Tim LaHart) and Mariah Baldwin; her cherished great-grandson, Declan LaHart; two siblings, Irma Titmus and Vittorio Testa, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Giuseppina Testa, father Vincenzo Testa, brothers Dante (Maddalena) and Guissepie Testa, Tony Titmus and sister Carmella (John) Brayshaw.

Maria leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Her family and friends will forever remember her as a caring, determined woman who always put the needs of her loved ones first. Her spirit will live on in the lifetime of memories she created and the hearts of all who knew her.
