Margaret I. (Komp) Slezak 86 of Schenectady formerly of Clyde Avenue in Rotterdam died Sunday August 29, 2004 at St. Clares Hospital after a long illness. Born and educated in Scotia, NY, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Anna (Payne) Komp. A housewife, Margaret was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church and the church's rosary society, she was an avid bridge player and a member of the Kingsway Village Bridge Group and a former member of the Scotia Women's Bowling League. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband Raymond G. Slezak who she married on February 7, 1945, four children; Lawrence R. Slezak and wife Judith of Springfield, MA. ,David G. Slezak of Rotterdam, Kathryn A. Smith and husband Daniel of Princetown and Marilyn J. Petro and husband Mark of Ponte Verda Beach, Fl., two brothers; Philip Komp of Saratoga and Robert Komp and wife Dorothy of Saranac Lake, NY, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:15am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady followed at 9am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Princetown Rd. Rotterdam where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Internment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY Contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to St. Clares Hospital Foundation , 600 McClellan Street, Schenectady, NY 12304
