Margaret (Maggie) G. Donohue, 82, of Galway went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Born in Cambridge, NY, Maggie was the daughter of George Thompson and Margaret Frances (Hannon) McPike of McPike Addiction Treatment Center in Utica, NY. She is a 1946 graduate of Greenwich High School. Maggie retired as a Telephone Operator for AT & T after 30 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. In her later years, Maggie was also employed by NYRA at the Saratoga Casino and Raceway. Since 1986, Maggie has also been involved in Military Housing Rentals to USN by opening her home in Ballston Spa to active service men and women. One of her most recent boarders, honored her in his retirement speech as " A true patriot".. Maggie is the beloved mother, grandmother and friend of four daughters Barbara Pelletier of Brandon, NY, Michele Scholz of Schenectady, Donna Green of Schuylerville and Margaret Van Schaick of Glenville, one son Michael Longo of Missouri, also survived by 21 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A Celebration of Her Life will be Wednesday 10AM at Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church 1840 Albany Street, Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Tuesday evening 6-8PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. Inurnment will be at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady.
