Madeline D. Hyatt, formerly of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023 at Capstone Nursing Home in Amsterdam at the age of 104.
Madeline was born on May 8, 1919 in Scotia, NY; daughter of Alphonso Monini and Mary Giardano. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Darwin Hyatt. Also predeceased by her brothers, Carl A. Monini (Carmella) and Vincent James Monini (Jennie). Survived by two nephews; Vincent James Monini Jr (Dorcas Ann) and Dale H. Monini (Julie) both of Rotterdam; four great nieces, Daphne Spataro (Matthew), Kristen Koudelka (Clarence), Suzanne Squires (Brian), Amy Praznik (Paul), one great step niece Valerie Dunn and one great nephew, Vincent James Monini III (Michele); six great great nephews and one great great niece.
Madeline worked for GE as a Lab Assistant for about 10 years; in the late 1950's she joined Stanley Home Products for 32 years as manager, then retired in 1982. After that she went to work for the NYS Department of Tax for a short time. She stayed busy volunteering her time at Glendale Nursing Home Auxiliary, also active with the Jonesville Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Rotterdam. She also enjoyed much travelling; foreign and domestic, gardening and mowing her lawn. She was always very active, until her later years.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 10:00AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, with a private burial to follow at Viewland Cemetery in Rotterdam. There will be a calling hour for family and friends at Bond Funeral Home prior to Mass on Thursday from 8:30 - 9:30AM.
