Louise C Jewett

Louise C. Jewett 97 of St Petersburg passed away February 1, 2209. Born in Hoosick Falls on Dec 28, 19911 she was the daughter of the late Laurits and Julia Andersen. She resided in Florida since 1971.A graduate of Scotia High School, she had a big family of 4 brothers; Larry, Charlie, Andy and Victor: 2 sisters Julia and Margie. Louise was the wife for 22 years of Trueman Roy Barber who died in 1953. A few years later she married Clarence Jewett and they remained married for 31 years. Louise always had beautiful flower gardens and wonderful vegetable gardens. She canned all she grew and put them in a cold cellar for winter months. A former employee of the General Electric Company in Schenectady, she was a member of the Danish Sisterhood, Holy Cross Church in St Petersburg, Former member of Cobblestone Reformed Church in Rotterdam. A wonderful, kind, patient, loving and caring person, Louise loved to crochet and made many doilies. Louise was predeceased by both husbands, her brothers, a sister and son-in-law, Daniel. Louise is survived by her daughter Nancy Barber Lynch of St Petersburg and her children Patricia, Peter, Patrick, Paul, Peggy, and Phillip, her son Leonard T. Barber and wife Joan of Altamont and their children, Wendy , Lori and Richard ; 15 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren her sister Julia and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning February 11, 2009 at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY .A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 am prior to the funeral service.
