Lorraine M. Rockstroh

Guilderland - Lorraine M. Rockstroh, 96, passed away Monday November 4, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

Lorraine was born in New Jersey, and grew up in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Campbell) Shatley.

She worked at General Electric in her early years and later years she worked for the State of New York. She was the first in the family to graduate from Linton High School in Schenectady. Lorraine enjoyed caring for a vegetable garden, knitting, sewing, and being active in the outdoors with her family. When her children were young she enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks and snowmobiling. She lived a good long life reminiscing about good days past and enjoyed everyday to its fullest. She loved to have family gatherings, any reason to have the family get together.

Devoted wife of the late Gordon Rockstroh Jr., they were married for 66 years; Also predeceased by her sisters Ruth Scott and Dorothy Zeo.

She leaves behind her three children, Debra Synder( Charles) of Latham, Gordon Rockstroh III (Candi) of Glenville and James Rockstroh (Eliza) of Rotterdam; as well as four grandchildren  Eric Rockstroh (Kristi), Gregory Rockstroh, Nick Rockstroh and Tracy Hasenpflug (Curt); and seven great grandchildren, Adrianna and Gabriella, Jilian, Alexandria, Madison, Amelia, and Max. She is survived by her sisters Charlotte Shatley, Catherine Canter, brothers, Charles Shatley and Henry Shatley. Along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 13, at 11am.  At Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, with visitation prior to the service from 9am to 11am. Burial will take place following the service at the Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam.
