Loretta R Morris

Loretta R. Morris,74, passed away Sunday afternoon August 14th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born in Schenectady, Loretta was the daughter of the late Alton and Carmetta (Jones) Pitt and was a graduate of Schalmont High School in Rotterdam.

A certified nursing assistant for many years, Loretta worked in private duty and at the Hallmark Nursing Center prior to her retirement.

An avid reader, Loretta enjoyed music, baking, old movies and taking long car rides.

Beside her parents, Loretta was predeceased by her brothers, Butch, Jerry, Bobby and Dougie Pitt.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 19 years, Alvin E. Morris who she married on August 29, 2003, her children, Kim Schermerhorn of Schenectady, Kelly Schermerhorn (Tim Markle) of Anchorage, Alaska and Victoria Morris of Schenectady, step- children, Keith Schermerhorn of Schenectady and Barry Morris of Utah, her granddaughter, Brittney Starkes of Rotterdam Junction, great grandchildren, Jersey and Javaughn, her siblings, Tom Pitt, Dean Pitt, Terry Pitt, Pat Hallenbeck, Cindy Lawyer and Mary Pitt, cousin Jackie West, dear friends Jenny Hanley and Beverly D’Alessandro and her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

No services will be held at Loretta’s request.

Loretta’s family would like to thank the staff at Glendale Nursing Home and the Ellis Hospital Emergency Department for their kindness and compassion in the care she received.
