Loretta J. Becker

Loretta J. Becker (Urban), 81, born in Schenectady, NY on January 21, 1944, passed away on December 24, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

Adored by her family, she was the mother to Robert E. Becker (Deidre), Deborah Danz (Becker) , and Catherine St. Clair (Lee). She was an amazing grandmother to Janet, Jennifer, and Jess Danz as well as grandma to her furbabies Jasper, Bentley, and Jaggar. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Irene Urban, and younger brother, John (Jack) Urban.

Lori was a graduate of Mildred Elly and SUNY Oswego. Her career began at General Electric (GE) and she retired from SUNY SCCC after 37 years in the workforce. Her favorite activities were spending time with family, friends and her three compassionate, intelligent, and beautiful granddaughters, Janet, Jennifer, and Jess Danz. She enjoyed teaching us how to bake and cook, just like her grandmother (Babci) taught her to do. She spoiled so many with her delectable brownies, willingly sharing the secret recipe is one she willingly shared. She enjoyed both flower and veggie gardening, the scent and colors always put a smile on her face. She eagerly waited to bite into a fresh tomato, green beans, or cucumbers from her harvest. She relished in sharing her love of sewing, scrapbooking, ancestry research, puzzles and reading. Her caring and giving nature touched everyone she knew or met, and she would be the first to help anyone out.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday January 3, 2026 from 9:30-10:30am at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 11am at the Church of St. Adalbert 550 Lansing Street Schenectady.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering, St. Jude’s, or Community Hospice..We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Albany Medical Center and the Nurses and Team from Community HOSPICE, who compassionately supported her in her final days
