Leroy David Jewett

July 18, 1934 — March 27, 2007

LeRoy David Jewett II, 72 of Princetown died on Tuesday Morning March 27th, 2007 at Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, LeRoy was the son of the late Howard and Mary (Mann) Jewett. A navy veteran, he was a 1952 graduate of Nott Terrace High School and a 1959 graduate of Cornell University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Science. LeRoy worked for Niskayuna High School for over 35 years as a Science Teacher before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the NYS Retired Teachers Association, First Reformed Church of Schenectady, a deacon and member of the Greater Consistory of the church and a former deacon at the Princetown Reformed Church. Le Roy is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Alice (Buwalda) Jewett, three children; Scott Robert Jewett and wife Amy of Boardman ,Ohio, LeRoy David Jewett III of Schenectady and Deannie Lee Jewett-Lahham and husband Jamil of Ruckersville, VA., five grandchildren, Alexandra Jewett, Anzie Lahham, Nina Lahham, Shadiah Lahham and Coltin Jewett, a brother, Rev. William H. Jewett and wife Barbara of Brielle, NJ, a sister Ann Paine and husband James of Barefoot Bay, FL. and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the First Reformed Church, 8 North Church Street, Schenectady on Saturday afternoon April 28, 2007 at 2 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to the First Reformed Church, 8 North Church Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY.
