Leonard E. Cummings, 60, of Albany, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2007. Leonard was born and raised in Schenectady, NY and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He attended Fulton Montgomery Community College before enlisting in the United States Marines. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was an Albany Police officer for a number of years. He worked for the Watervliet Arsenal for 13 years and retired in 1996. Leonard is survived by his wife, Helen Cummings of Albany, NY; his daughters, Stephanie Cummings of Silver Spring, MD, Casey L. Cummings of Albany, NY and Adika Cummings of Schenectady, NY; stepchildren Ronald Pringle of Albany, NY and Kasandra Lacy of Albany, NY and six step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving parents Leonard and Eugenia Cummings, Sr. of Schenectady, NY as well as a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday Morning October 29th at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. A calling hour will be held for family and friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service. Burial services will be at the Gerald Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fisher House, Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
