Leona M Micheli (Neal)

Leona M. Micheli, 89, of Niskayuna, passed away on Sunday April 9, 2017 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Frances (Zurich) Neal. Lee graduated in 1946 from Mont Pleasant High School and attended Mildred Elley Business School. She was a homemaker, raising five children. She was also employed by St. Peter's Hospital, Eastern Refrigeration, and Stracher, Roth, and Gilmore. Lee was also a devout Catholic, attending Kateri Tekakwitha Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a sweet, gentle disposition, who gave of herself to everybody. She loved golf, challenging puzzles and especially loved being surrounded by family and friends. Lee is predeceased by one daughter, Gail Ann, and two brothers, Leonard and James Neal. Lee is survived by her loving husband Felix Micheli whom she married August 7, 1948, her four children: Janet Lee Micheli of Schenectady, Chris Micheli (Marleen) of Guilderland, Thomas Micheli (Donna) of Menands and Susan Micheli of Niskayuna. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Erik, Justin, Emma, Michael, Meghan and Riley and three great-grandchildren: Erik II, Angelina, and Robert. Lee is also survived by the Hobbs family and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services for Lee will be Saturday April 22, 2017 at 9:15AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 10AM at Kateri Tekakwitha Church 1803 Union Street Schenectady. Calling hours will be Friday April 21, 2017 from 5:30PM-7:30PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Schenectady City Mission or Kateri Tekakwitha Church.
