Leo A. Mailhotte, 84, of Rotterdam passed away on Sunday June 11. 2023 at the Grand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Guilderland Center. He was born in Freetown, MA, the son of the late Albert and Eva (Bouchard) Mailhotte.
He graduated from URI in 1960 with a degree in electrical engineering. Joined General Electric in 1960 and retired after 35 years. Through his life he was very active with barbershop singing for over 60+ years. 35 of which he was very proud to be the Director of the Electric City Chorus of Schenectady, New York. His love for singing brought him to meet the love of his life, Ann, in which they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary earlier this month. He was a Snowbird in Florida for over 20 years where he joined his second chorus, Sarasota chorus of the keys. He lived his best life, traveling the country on numerous trips and cruises. He loved to play golf, cards and make puzzles. Good luck at beating him in cards. Just ask his good friend Katie LaCasse, as that had become her daily task. And we cannot forget his daily scoop of ice cream, which he looked forward to everyday.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Grand Rehabilitation Center in Guilderland, for the loving care that they gave to Leo.
He is survived by his loving wife Ann (Wolf) Mailhotte, his son Jeffrey Mailhotte (Deborah), his daughter Michelle O’Brien (Kenneth LaCasse), his brother Albert Mailhotte, one grand daughter Jessica Mailhotte and one great granddaughter Madison Mailhotte.
