Lena Cimo, 89, of Scotia passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning January 14th 2009 at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. Born and educated in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Marie Raia. Lena was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Schenectady. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank Cimo in 1988. Lena was also predeceased by her daughter Virginia Cagnina, and her two sisters Rose and Mary. She is survived by her daughters Frances Slagel (Glenn) of Glenville, and MaryAnn Jacobs (Camillo) of Rotterdam. Lena is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon 3:45pm at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed at 4:30pm by a mass of Christian burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 802 Union Street Schenectady. Burial will private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers relatives and friends may make donations in Lena's memory to the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 297 North Ballston Avenue Scotia, NY 12302.
