LAWRENCE J. W1ECZYNSKI. SR. CO-FOUNDER OF T. A. PREDEl & CO. Lawrence J. Wieczynski. Sr. (88 years young) went to his eternal rest on Dec. 24, 2006 Lawrence was a member of the 104th Regiment, 26th Infantry Division during Worid War II, serving from Normandy, to the Saar Valley, to the Battle of the Bulge, receiving 4 bronze Stars.He was an active member of the American Legion (56 years), a Disabled American Veteran and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lawrence and Thaddeus Predel co-founded T. A. Predel & Co. in the 1940's. Twenty years later he began work for General Electric Company and retired after 14 years. After moving to Forida, Lawrence was head of security for 14 years with the Dial Corporation in Auburndale. FL. Lawrence was born to the late Francis and Helen (Predel) Wieczynski on March 24, 1918 in Schenectady, NY. He and his wife Evelyn raised there 4 children in Rotterdam , NY and then retired to Winter Haven, Flolida in 1983. At the time of his death he and Eve1yn were residing in Clifton Park. NY. He is survivied by his beloved wife of 67 years, Evelyn, son Lawrence J. Wieczynski, Jr. (Patricia) of Scotia,NY, daughters Carole Whitson (Bob) of Paris, Arkansas, Sister Susan Wieczynski RSM of Ballston Lake, NY and Janet DiDonato (Paul) of Burnt Hills, NY., Nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Lawrence is also survived by two sisters, Annette Angelo (Charles} of Florida and Fran Dunn of Arkansas and several nephews.Lawrence was also predeceased by a grandson, Bobby Joe Whitson. Services will be private. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the future.Contributions in honor of Lawrence's life can be made to the Disabled Veterans Association,American Legion Post #0008,Winterhaven, Florida, and Religious Sisters of Mercy Retirement Fund, 310 South Manning BIvd, Albany 12208.
