Lawrence J Laviolette

Lawrence J. Laviolette 79 of Scotia died at home on Monday evening October 8th after a short illness. Born in Rotterdam, he was the son of the late Homer and Gertrude (Carmichael) Laviolette and attended and played basketball at St Joseph's School. Lawrence was the former owner of Larry's Dairy Bar in Ballston Lake and had worked at Bellevue Dairy for over 20years. He later worked as a principal clerk for New York State in the Department of Tax and Finance at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Immaculate Conception in Glenville, a member of several bowling leagues, a regular at Albany Saratoga Speedway and enjoyed the annual Safari camping trips to Indian Lake. Lawrence is predeceased by his wife of 52 years Eunice M. (Rafferty) Laviolette. Survivor's include his five children, Joseph Laviolette (Sally) of Esperance, John Laviolette of Goldsboro, NC, Jacqueline Hart of Rotterdam Junction and Linda Carter and Susan Hartley both of Clifton Park, 9 grandchildren Jason, Renee, Julee, Robert, Heriberto, Dixie, Shelly, Wendy and Jeffery and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 8:15am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY followed at 9 am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Saratoga Rd., Glenville where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
