Lawrence E. Bloomer, 66, of Schenectady passed away at home on Sunday December 6, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Pomeroy) Bloomer.
He was employed as the Lighting Showroom Manager for Wolberg Electric in Schenectady.
Lawrence was the recipient of a liver transplant and was a proud sponsor of the National Kidney Foundation. He participated in the Transplant Olympics and received a gold medal for his efforts.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by one brother James Bloomer. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife Sandra Rowney Bloomer, his loving children Erin Johnson (Kristopher) of Panama City, Kevin Ronca of Florida, NY, Lara Neddo (Keith) of Summerville, SC and Matthew Bloomer (Kate) of Erie, PA. He is also survived by his brothers and sister Richard Bloomer (Mary Ann) of Schenectady Kathy Kinsey (James) of Venice, Fl., Thomas Bloomer of Schenectady and David Bloomer (Raffaella) of Delanson, one sister in law Maggie Bloomer of Hawaii. Lawrence also is survived by three loving grandchildren Milaena Neddo, Caleb Bloomer and Isabella Bloomer as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Lawrence’s life will be on Friday December 11, 2020 from 2-4PM with a service to follow at 4PM with the Rev. Richard Carlino officiating at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Face masks and social distancing are required.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Lawrence’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation 22 Colvin Avenue Albany, NY 12206.
