Entered into eternal life on September 27, 2025 after a long illness. Husband of the former Carol A. Bonk, and father of Laurence T. Bonk (Kim) and Barbara Bonk Pettinato (Chuck). He was born in Schenectady, N.Y. and was the son of Joseph Bonk and Ida Schmuckmeier Bonk. He lived most of his life in Rotterdam, N.Y. Larry was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters who predeceased him; Peg, Ida, Brud, Viola, Casper, and Bob, and had several nieces and nephews.

He served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War in a Howitzer artillery division and was proud of his service and his country.

Upon his return he married Carol and raised his family in Rotterdam, working as a steamfitter at GE. He later achieved a career at Niagara Mohawk Power Company as a electric planner. He was married 65 years and was a member of Rotterdam Elks.

Visitation will be held 9-11AM followed by a memorial service from 11– 11:30 AM at Bond Funeral Home on Guilderland Avenue in Schenectady, Wednesday October 8. A burial service will take place at 1:00 PM at the Saratoga National Cemetary in Schuylerville, N.Y.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice House, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, N.Y. 12078, or at mvcares.org.
