Laura Simpkins

Laura Simpkins, 98. of Schenectady, passed away on Tuesday September 22, 2026 at the Grand Nursing and Rehabilitation in Guilderland. Born in Paulette, VT, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Florence (Mackey) Warner.

She was employed as a police dispatcher for the Town of Guilderland.

Laura was passionate about bowling, fishing, travel and boating. But most importantly she loved spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Barbara Simpkins, her brother George Mackey Warner, her sisters Jerine Warner Anthony, Ivy Warner Larabee and Marjorie Warner Harris.

Laura is survived by her daughter Janet Viscio and her grandchildren Rachel Viscio, Samuel Viscio, Mary Viscio and Morgan Viscio as well as 3 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Laura’a life will be Sunday September 27, 2026 at 2PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Visitation will be from 1-2 prior to the service.
