Laura M Seib (Metcalf)

Laura M. Seib, 92, of Rotterdam passed away at home on Thursday November 15, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Matilda (Johnston) Metcalf. Laura was a graduate of Draper High School. She was a nurse's aide for St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, retiring in 1984. Laura then pursued her passion of designing custom cakes for all occasions. She especially delighted in creating birthday, wedding and anniversary cakes for her family. She completed her last masterpiece for her granddaughter Brittany and her husband Ryan's wedding on October 13, 2018. Laura is predeceased by her loving husband Richard Seib whom she married May 17, 1944. She is also predeceased by two brothers George Metcalf and Merrill Metcalf as well as two sisters Hazel Hoey and Eleanor Penistan. Laura is survived by her four loving daughters Linda Guiton (Paul) of Schenectady, Karen Lynch (J. Timothy) of Greenville, SC, Kathy Wroblewski (Craig) of Schenectady and Lorie Ruth of Guilderland. She is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her longtime companion, her cat Diamond. Funeral Services for Laura will be Sunday November 18, 2018 at 1PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Visitation will be from 12-1PM prior to the service. Interment will be in the spring in Viewland Cemetery in Rotterdam.
