Kermit J. Gordon 95 formerly of Schenectady died Wednesday at the Vitas Inpatient Care Unit in Orlando. Born in Rotterdam, he was the son of the late Joseph and Edith (Fisher) Gordon. A WWII Army veteran, Kermit worked as a salesman for the former Hudson Hardware and Central Plumbing and Heating for many years. He was also a Tractor Trailer operator for many years. A handyman who enjoyed working with his hands and was a member of the 150th Engineer Division Reunion Group. Kermit was predeceased in 1981 by his wife Martha Smith Gordon. He is survived by there nine children; Marian Kotell (Robert) of Austin, TX, Lee Davis and Patricia Torrey (Bruce) both of Orlando, Donna Delnick (Dean) of Glenville, Susan Lindsay (Richard) of Poinciana, Fl., Everett Gordon (Amy) and Paul Gordon both of Schenectady, K. Earl Gordon of Kissimmee, Fl and John Gordon (Elizabeth Oliver) of Malta, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 10 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Spring interment in Viewland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to Community Hospice, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in his memory.
