Kenneth A. Royer, 86, of Rotterdam, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Guilderland Center Nursing Home. Born in Saratoga Springs, Kenneth was the son of the late Conner and Grace (Noxon) Royer. Kenneth honorably served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Kenneth was employed by Weber Construction where he worked as a foreman for 30 years. He also worked at the West Milton Military Naval Base as a construction foreman for 10 years. A member of Carman United Methodist Church, Kenneth was also a volunteer fireman for Carman Fire Department. He was an avid bowler and golfer, and former co-owner of Mont Pleasant Bowling Lanes. Kenneth leaves behind his wife of over 62 years, Eunice (Galusha) Royer, his children, Kenneth G. Royer of Phoenix, AZ and Beth Van Skiver (Ron) of Johnstown, as well as his grandchildren, Scott Royer, Terra Kratz (Chad), Eric Van Skiver, Brittany Van Skiver, Taylor Royer, Connor Royer and Jaret Rogers and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 30th, at 12pm at Carman United Methodist Church, 2350 Hamburg St., Schenectady, NY 12303. Interment with full military honors will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. The family would like to thank the staff at Guilderland Center Nursing Home for their care and kindness during Kenneth's stay there. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth's name can be made to Carman United Methodist Church or to the Carman Fire Department, 2435 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY 12303.
