Kendall R. Pirro passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at his home in Rotterdam.
Kendall was born on November 9, 1932 in Schenectady, the son of the late Anthony Pirro and Rose Simone. He grew up in the Schonowe area of Rotterdam amidst many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kendall graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Albany. Following graduation from Union College in 1954, he enrolled in the US Army which included service in the Army Counterintelligence Corps while stationed in Hawaii. Following his discharge from the Army, Kendall enrolled in Georgetown Law School where he received his law degree in 1960. Following his passing of the New York State bar exam in 1960, he entered private legal practice in Schenectady.
Kendall was an attorney in the New York State Department of Audit and Control for over 25 years when he retired in 1988 and was also an attorney for the Town of Rotterdam for nearly 30 years. Kendall also practiced private law helping many friends, family members and others with legal matters until his retirement from private practice in 2020.
Kendall enjoyed taking care of his home and yard and travelling with his loving wife Margaret (Obrecht) of 71 years. He was an avid tennis player and bird feeder and an accomplished pianist, leading a wedding and banquet band in the 1970s, and was a life-long New York Giants fan.
Kendall is survived by his wife Margaret, son Kendall Jr. and wife Janice (Goldman), grandchildren Jennifer (Mathew) Pappafotopoulous, Michelle (Bradley) Zancanaro and Jeffrey Pirro (Julia) and much-loved great-grandchildren Charlie, Mack, Ellie and Simone.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at the Bond Funeral Home at 1614 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady from 10 AM to 11:30 AM followed by a memorial service. Following the service, entombment will take place at the St. Cyril Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Road, Rotterdam at 12:30 PM.
