Keith is survived by parents, Jeff and Evelyn of Wilton, NY; wife Jennifer (Fox), children Phoebe and Keira; and brother, Erik.
Keith was born November 10, 1975, in Mineola, NY to parents Jeff and Evelyn Olmer.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from SUNY Albany in 1997, and then attended SUNY New Paltz, to pursue a master’s degree, where he met future wife Jennifer Fox who he married September 1, 2001.
Keith and Jennifer moved to Schenectady in 2002 and started their family with the birth of their two daughters Phoebe (August 4, 2005) and Keira (February 16, 2007). His children remember him as confident, happy and larger than life.
Driven by Keith’s passion for helping others, he attended Hudson Valley Community College’s nursing program and later Kaplan University earning a Master's in nursing in 2015.
Keith worked at St. Clair’s / Ellis Hospital and held many positions as his career progressed – from Patient Care Assistant to Director of Nursing, and most recently he worked for the NYS Department of Health as a Healthcare Surveyor.
Keith was passionate about the NFL and was a lifelong loyal NY Jets fan. He enjoyed athletics and sports of all types and earned a black belt from Pai’s Taekwondo. He took pride in building his home gym and enjoyed sharing the space with his friends. Video games were always a major source of relaxation for Keith.
A celebration of Keith’s life will take place Friday, December 29 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Ave Schenectady, NY 12306. At approximately 3PM, a Nurse Honor Guard will conduct a brief ceremony to honor Keith’s service as a nurse. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Keith’s life with his family, friends, and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hudson Valley Community College. The family would like to thank Ellis Hospital for their care of Keith and the support for his loved ones.
