Kathleen A O'Connell

On September 4, 2018, Kathleen Ann O'Connell loving daughter, sister, aunt passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 66. Born in Rome, NY, Kathy attended Rome Catholic High School and resided in the Albany area for many years. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Marian O'Connell, and brother, Kevin O'Connell. Kathy is survived by her siblings Jerome O'Connell, Sharon (Daniel) Warren, Maureen (Paul) Stellato, Thomas (Mary Anne) O'Connell, Carol O'Connell, Elaine O'Connell (Paul Szakats), many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and her dear friends, Marilyn, Susan, and April. Kathy was proud of her career as a phlebotomist and enjoyed sharing her quick wit, infectious smile, and her compassion and caring with her patients. Her career began at Rome Hospital, and continued to the Albany area where she held positions at Bender Labs, Red Cross, and Prime Care. Kathy loved her family and friends. She was happiest when hearing the escapades and adventures of her siblings, nieces, nephews, and great nephews. Kathy enjoyed travel and loved her time alongside a lake or ocean. Her family and friends know that she is now at rest, sitting on a dock watching the sunset! Services for Kathy will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
