Katherine M Hallenbeck

Katherine M. Hallenbeck of Schenectady died Monday September 4, 2006 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Claude O and Marian Mansfield and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. Katherine worked for Union College for over 31 years before her retirement in 1979. She was a member of St Paul the Apostle Church, Daughters of the American Revolution (Schenectada Chapter),a member of Annie Schaffer, St Paul's and Mont Pleasant Seniors and a avid traveler and card player who won several awards for the roses she would grow. Katherine was predeceased in 1982 by her husband of 42 years Elmer W. Hallenbeck. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Vacca and husband Raymond of Brooklyn, her sister, Rosaline Duci and husband Salvatore of Glenville, three grandchildren, Kimberly, Greg and Raymond Vacca and a niece Joy Mele (Paul) and nephew John Duci. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning September 9, 2006 at 9 am at St Paul the Apostle Church, Albany St., Schenectady. There will be no calling hours by request. Internment in Parkview Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a Charity of your choice. Katherine's family would like to thank the staff of the 1st floor Intensive Care Unit at Ellis Hospital for their care and kindness during her illness.
