Karen Ballard

Karen Ballard, 71, of Rotterdam, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, died Friday November 26, 2010 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness. Born in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Thomas and Ruth (Timmons) Gavin. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady. Karen was a homemaker. She loved animals. Karen will be greatly missed. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Frank Ballard whom she married May 8, 1960. Karen is survived by two loving daughters, Lisa Jean Beedleson (Robert) of Rotterdam and Paula Ballard of Glenville; one loving sister, Gayle Gavin of New York City; and also survived by one loving grandchild, Hailey Ballard-Smith. Funeral Services will be Tuesday 12 noon at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A Calling Hour will be held 11am - 12 prior to the service.
