Judith Blackstone

Judith A Blackstone, 77 years old, of Edgewood Avenue passed away on Monday, September 1st, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones at home. Born in Schenectady, New York she was the daughter of Harry and Marie Aussiker. She graduated from Alfred State College where she earned her Associate Degree in Executive Secretarial Science. Over the years, she pursued several distinct professions, excelling in each. She spent the majority of her professional career working at Himan Straub Law Firm for 36 years. She was an Executive Assistant to the President and other legislative attorneys. She was instrumental in coordinating statewide meetings of the New York State Conference of Plans (insurance companies) throughout the state. She also loved being the Social Director where she planned annual holiday parties for employees and their families. She was the cherished wife of Phillip E. Blackstone for over 50 years. Together they had two children, Christopher M. Blackstone (Jennifer Blackstone) of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kathleen M. Hooker of Schenectady. They shared in the joy of their 3 grandchildren: Natalie M. Blackstone, Jacob A. Blackstone, and Chase A. Blackstone. She loved being their “Mimi” and enjoyed watching them in all their sporting events. She cherished her two siblings Ann A. Ramsey and Susan A. Eichler. In her spare time, Judy loved Wordle,crosswords puzzles, and her little puppy Lily. She was so kind, loving, and hardworking. She always had other people's interests at heart. Her memory will be cherished, and her absence deeply felt. Relatives and friends are invited to attend mass at St. Madeline Sophie Church on Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at 10 am. The address is 3510 Carmen Rd, Schenectady NY 12303. Following the mass, we invite you to a celebration of life in honor of Judy. Details will be provided at the end of mass.
