Josephine " Jo" C Brecka (Kettyle)

Josephine “Jo” C. Brecka, 93, of Rotterdam passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 15, 2023, at the Glendale Nursing Home. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie (Clements) Kettyle.

A former cook at Mohonasen High School, head cook at Guilderland high School and a dietitian at O.D. Heck. Jo was a longtime member of the Carman United Methodist Church in Rotterdam.

Jo is predeceased by her husband George Brecka, her life partner of 30 years J. Alden "Red" Benson and her half-brother Stanley Kettyle.

She is survived by four children Robert Miller (Vicki), Sharon Aleksejczyk(Thomas), Gloria Andrikopoulos (Peter), George Brecka (Wayne Chouinard). Jo is also survived by 6 grandchildren-Jeffrey Miller, Craig Miller, Todd Davis, Kyriakoula Andrikopoulos, Athena Andrikopoulos and Sonia Andriokopoulos as well as 10 great grandchildren.

A Graveside memorial service will be Wednesday March 8, 2023 at Memory Gardens in Colonie at 10AM.
