Joseph Schmidt

Joseph Alan Schmidt, 74, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026. Born in Albany, New York, Joseph was the son of John Schmidt and Clara Schmidt.

Joseph earned his associate’s degree and went on to work as a Network and Computer Systems Administrator for Shaker Computer until his retirement. Computers were not just his career; they were his passion. He had a natural talent for understanding how things worked and took great pride in building, fixing, and troubleshooting computers. For many, he was the first call when something needed to be repaired or upgraded. He genuinely enjoyed the challenge, and his knowledge and curiosity never faded.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kelsey Rogan and Colby Auguste; his siblings, David Schmidt and Carolann Fraenkel; and all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Schmidt and Clara Schmidt.

Joseph will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love of technology, and the lasting impact he had on those closest to him. His memory will live on through the family he cherished and the countless problems he quietly and patiently solved along the way.
