Joseph R Palumbo

Joseph R. Palumbo 80 of Rotterdam, died Thursday evening May 22nd at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Born and educated in Rotterdam, he was the son of the late John and Stefana (Peretta) Palumbo and brother of the late Stephen Palumbo. A Korean War Army veteran, Joseph worked as a machinist at the General Electric Company for over 40 years before his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the ? Century Club of the General Electric, V.F.W. Post #1895 and Our Lady of the Assumption Church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Helene (Delafano) Palumbo, his sons, David J. Palumbo and Mark J. Palumbo (Fianc? Shirley Favata) both of Rotterdam, his brother, Anthony Palumbo (late Angie) of Rotterdam, sister-in-law, Marie Palumbo of Rotterdam and Betty Maddalone of Rotterdam, grandchildren Jessica Palumbo of Duanesburg, Joseph Palumbo and Sam Palumbo both of Rotterdam, a great grandchild, Aerianna Lynn Wood and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 27, 2008 private at the convienence of the family. There will be no calling hour by request. Interment in St Cyril's Cemetery.
