Joseph W. Bordeau, 90, of Rotterdam, passed away at home on February 19, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Delphis and Dorothy (Tess) Bordeau. Joseph attended Draper School, served in the US Navy, and then retired from the D & H Railroad. Joseph enjoyed creating furniture for family members and close friends, woodworking, hunting, and was an avid fisherman and golfer. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 65 years, Marguerite E. Bordeau, brother James Dominelli, as well as three children: Barbara Bordeau Foti (Robert) of Schenectady; Janice Balch (Richard) of Queensbury; and Gary Bordeau of Saratoga Springs. He is the grandfather of 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Joseph is predeceased by his brother Delfris Edward Bordeau. Joe will forever be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and love for his family. A private service will be held at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. A Memorial Service will be at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Joseph's memory to Community Hospice, 445 New Karmer Road Albany, NY 12205 or VFW Local Post 357, 1309 5th Ave. Schenectady, NY 12303.
