John Thomas “Johnnie Boy” Young

John “Johnnie Boy “Young peacefully transitioned at home on April 8, 2022.

He was born in Albany, NY and lived in Schenectady, NY. After earning his GED he developed a love of cooking and worked tirelessly to develop his skill and was acknowledged for his expertise and entrepreneurship as an outstanding chef who was able to please any palate. John was an avid pet lover, He loved collecting coins; trading and selling antiques; watching Sci fi movies, sports, games, and enjoyed activities related to equestrianism in Saratoga.

John often said his greatest accomplishments in life were cooking fantastic food, making people laugh and being around his son, family and friends.

John is survived by his mother Florence Emily Dobson Young, son, Tewande L Young and wife Tiffany Young; 4 grandchildren, Destiny Young, Dominique Barbagallo Endia Wilkins, and Tewan (Jojo) Young and niece
Yumeka Young and nephew Edwin Harris; former wives and close friends, Deborah Presley Young and Barbara M Ham. John is also survived by his Aunt Nancy Dobsonand uncle Herb Christian, cousins, Charles (Mary) Miller, Carol Glover, Jerry Carter, David Jeffress, and Sonja Brooks, Bernadine Byrd, and Shirleen Lucas. Numerous friends, cousins, great nieces and nephews’ aunts, and uncles. Preceded in death by his father John C Young and sister, Shirley L Young.

John’s memory will remain in the hearts all who loved him. John no longer suffers from pain or despair; he is a child of God in God's loving care.
