John H Rock

John H. Rock, 53, passed away Friday, October 29th, 2021 at his home in Schenectady, NY.

John was born February 10th, 1968 in Tobyhanna, PA to John E. and Susan Rock. John graduated from Pocono Mountain High School in 1987. After graduation he was in the Marines for a short time. Later in life John studied at Broom County Community College when he was a resident of Binghamton, NY. John enjoyed playing the guitar, photography, and cooking; he was a chef for 18 years. He also enjoyed drawing, writing, reading and the outdoors. John’s Christian faith was a large part of his life. John was a congregant of Ascension – a Community of Faith where he attended with his daughter Chelsea. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with faith and a smile.

John was preceded in death by his parents. and is survived by his ex-wife Karoleigh Rock-Bernhauer, three children: Chelsea (Sean) Murray, Leah (Kevin) Zimmer, and Paul (Holly Elsey) Rock, his sisters Sheri Rock and Meredith Dennis, as well as his Grandchildren, Keith, Angeline, Roseline, Andrew, Elliott, Xavier, Logan, Savannah, Brooke, Gianna.

He is also survived by his nieces Karissa Eddie Schenk, Samantha Dennis, and many friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 5th, 2021, 4:00pm - 5:00pm at Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12306 with funeral services immediately following. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in John’s memory may be made to the Schenectady City Mission.
