John B Martin Jr

John B. Martin Jr. 78 of Schenectady died morning April 24, 2008 at St. Clares Hospital after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, John was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and the son of the late John B. and Anna Martin. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he worked in machine repair at the General Electric Company for over 41 years before retiring in 1988. After retirement John worked as a School Bus driver for Brown's and Northland Transportation. A member of the GE ? century club, John love model trains, bowling, doing projects around the house and helping family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 52 years Marcella (Lukaszyn) Martin who he married July 17, 1955, his children, John Martin III (Late Nina), Maryanne Renus (Joseph Cacciolfi,), Barbara Ostrowski (Stephen) and Cheryl Martin all of Schenectady, James Martin (Margaret) of Scotia and Stanley Martin of Ravena, his grandchildren Sam, Patricia, Amanda, Andrea and Stephen. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 6 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 4 to 6 pm prior to the service.
