John J Lacagnina Jr

John Joseph LaCagnina Jr. died Monday June 14, 2010 at Andrew Michaud Nursing Home in Fulton, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Foley) Canin. John was employed at the General Electric Company for over 40 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Past President of the Holy Name Society at Immaculate Conception Church, Past member of Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, member of Loyal Order of the Moose 251 and Boy Scouts of America for 20 years, Scout Master Troop 90 for 3 years. A avid Yankee fan and scuba diver he was also Past President of Bellevue Little League, Sec/Tres. and Past president of Hilltop Merchants bowling League, former President of Schenectady 25 bowling league and Chairman of Board of W.A.I.T.T. Houses Inc. John was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Laura (Rea) LaCagnina and a son John J. LaCagnina 3rd . He is survived by his children, Kathleen Steele (David) of West Monroe, NY, Delores Freedman (Bruce) of Tazewell, VA and Peter LaCagnina (Cheryl) of Schenectady, grandchildren, Valerie Salazar (Pierre), Matthew Freedman, Jacob LaCagnina, Jennifer Freedman and Peter LaCagnina, great grandchildren, Anthony and Joseph Salazar, brother, Albert LaCagnina (Marlene) of NJ and sisters, Delores Goione of Fl. and Gertrude Peters of NJ along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY on Wednesday June 30th at 1 pm. Interment in St John's Cemetery , Schenectady, NY .
