John C. Kellogg, born in Buffalo, NY on August 14, 1936 to Dorothy (Crounse) and John Kellogg. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Albany, NY closer to family roots in Altamont and Scotia. Later, the family settled in Schenectady.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, his beloved wife, Barbara, a grandson, Joshua Nasci, and a granddaughter, Brooke Hebert.

John married his beloved Barbara in October 1973 and between the two had six children: Deborah Kellogg, William (Billy) (Lora) Kellogg, Wendy (Kellogg) (Paul) Grant, Kimberly (Kellogg) (Pierre) Denis, Michele (Quackenbush) (Bob) Nagel and Stacey (Quackenbush) (Frank) Tully, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

An avid hiker and traveler, John completed the Long Trail from Massachusetts, through Vermont to the Canadian border in 1983 and with great pride became a 46-R, member #1390, of the Adirondack High Peaks in 1986. He and Barbara traveled to 38 countries during their time together and note that the African Safari was their favorite and Maui, Hawaii as the most beautiful place on earth.
