John J. Ettore, 92, of Guilderland, formerly of Schenectady, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born in Rotterdam, John was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Leonetti) Ettore. A graduate of Draper High School, John was a Corporal in the US Army during World War II. After World War II, John worked as a steamfitter at General Electric in Schenectady, later working in masonry and tile work at Martinelli Masonry for 20 years until his retirement in 1980. John also worked in maintenance at Childs Hospital in Albany for 8 years until his retirement in 1988. John is predeceased by his wife, Loretta DeLisle Ettore, whom he married in 1952. He is also predeceased by his siblings, Albert Ettore, Frank Ettore, Steve Ettore, Harold Ettore, Larry Ettore, Mary Hughes and Antoinette Kanaly, and two nephews, John C. Ettore and Richard Hughes. John leaves behind his daughter, Lori J. Lapi (Joseph) of Middle Grove, NY, his grandson, Joseph Lapi and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service with full military honors will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery at a time to be announced.
