John Balazovich

John J Balazovich 81 of Schenectady died Sunday evening September 17, 2006 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born and educated in Schenectady, John was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Czerpak) Balazovich and brother of the late Edward Balazovich. John served in the Army during WWII and later worked for the General Electric Company for more than 22 years before retiring in 1987. John enjoyed his retirement going to Florida and playing golf with his friends. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Gladys Cooper Balazovich who he married on March 19, 1946, two daughters, Carol Chagnon and husband Tony of Rotterdam and Karen Susan Balazovich of Schenectady, three grandchildren, Richard A. Chagnon Jr. of Albany, Lisa Fallon of Mariaville and Nicole Signore of Rotterdam ,three great grandchildren, Sophia , Haley and Gina Fallon. and several niece and nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon September 21, 2006 at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY, Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 11 am to 12 noon prior to the service . Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
