Joan K Plankis

Joan Kehoe Plankis, of Guilderland NY died peacefully on June 30, 2021 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Joan was born March 23, 1937 to Martin J. Kehoe Sr. and Edna Lee Kehoe.

Joan grew up in Rotterdam NY and was a 1955 graduate of Draper High School. Soon after high school Joan went to work for Quinn Abstract Company in Schenectady NY. In 1969 Joan went to work for Murdock Abstract as a secretary-typist. Years later Joan became president and owner of Murdock Abstract Corporation and maintained that position until her retirement in 2010.

Joan married Edmund Plankis in August of 1978 and enjoyed a blessed marriage until Ed’s passing in September of 2020.

Ed and Joan enjoyed many adventures and trips together, including trips to the coast of Maine and trips to the Masters Golf Tournament in Georgia. Joan also enjoyed following the NY Yankees and listening to Frank Sinatra records.

Joan was predeceased by her husband Ed, father Martin Kehoe Sr., mother Edna Lee Kehoe and her brother John Kehoe and sister-in-law, Margaret Kehoe.

Joan is survived by her sister Christine (Pat) Reynolds and her husband Dan, and brother Martin J. Kehoe Jr. (Arlene), along with many nieces, nephews, god-children and friends. Joan also leaves behind many fellow title searches and employees of County Clerk offices in the capital district.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning, July 6th at 10 AM at St. Gabriel’s Church 3040 Hamburg Street, Schenectady NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Interment will be private in Saratoga National Cemetery.
