Joan C. Monda, 78, of Rotterdam Junction passed away peacefully at home on Sunday January 22, 2023. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marion (Van Patten) Leonardo.

She enjoyed cribbage, road trips, the beach, spending time with her family, phelfing with her daughter, and doing absolutely anything she could for anyone else. Her generosity was beyond measure, and she will be missed.
Besides her parents, Joan is predeceased by her son Sgt. James J. Monda, her daughter Kim Hurley and her brother John White.
Joan is survived by her daughter Jill Petitti (Fred), her daughter in law Teresa Kepler, her two brothers Joseph Leonardo and Jerry Leonardo as well as two grandchildren Daniel Petitti (Kayla) and Jacob Brock (Sarah) and one great grandchild Sawyer Petitti..
A Celebration of Joan’s life will be on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 12 noon at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A Visitation will be held from 10-12 prior.
