Jerry John Armstrong, affectionately known as "The Duke," "The Legend," and "The Best Papa," passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 78.
Born in Schenectady on July 11, 1946, Jerry was the son of the late Raymond Armstrong and Dorothy Pace. He was the owner and operator of Armstrong Appliance Service for over 40 years. He also shared his extensive knowledge of appliance repair with his grandson Tommy, who followed in his footsteps and became the owner and operator of TC Appliances.
Jerry enjoyed spending his time visiting casinos, attending Saratoga races, and watching boxing and NASCAR events. He is survived by his brother Raymond Armstrong of Glenville, his daughters Tammy Commarto and Bridget Monlea (Chris), both of Rotterdam, and his grandchildren Tommy Commarto (Ashley) and Jules Monlea, also of Rotterdam. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a dear friend, Roy Matthews.
